Adding Portal to your phone or tablet's home screen is super easy, and saves you having to type in smartacc.freshdesk.com when you want to use the web app.


Follow our guides below for either Android or iOS devices (iPad / iPhone).


Android (Chrome)

  1. Open up Google Chrome on your phone or tablet, and visit smartacc.freshdesk.com.
  2. Sign in to the app, and navigate to the page which you want to the shortcut to take you to or remain on homepage.
  3. Click the 3-dotted "menu" icon in the top right of the browser (you may have to swipe down if it isn't already displaying).
  4. From the browser's menu, select Add to home screen.
  5. A form will appear confirming the action. Use the Title field to customize the name as it will appear on your home screen.
  6. Press Add when you are done.

Android (Stock Browser)

Note: Using Google Chrome on Android is the recommended method, instead of the default stock browser, as it includes several features that will improve your overall experience - such as removing the browser interface, so it behave like a native app.
  1. Open up Android Web Browser on your phone or tablet, and visit smartacc.freshdesk.com.
  2. Sign in to the app, and navigate to the page which you want to the shortcut to take you to or remain on homepage.
  3. Click the 3-dotted "menu" icon in the top right of the browser (you may have to swipe down if it isn't already displaying).
  4. From the browser's menu, select Save to bookmarks.
  5. A form will appear confirming the bookmark. You can use the Label field to customize the name as it will appear on your home screen.
  6. From the list of choices on the Add to field, change it from Bookmarks to Home screen.
  7. Press OK when you're finished.

iOS

  1. Launch the Safari web browser app, and visit smartacc.freshdesk.com.
  2. Sign in to the app, and navigate to the page which you want to the shortcut to take you to or remain on homepage.
  3. Click the Share button in the bottom-middle of the screen (a box with an arrow coming out of it). You may have to tap the page if it isn't already visible.
  4. From the list of sharing options that appears, choose Add to Home Screen.
  5. The Add to Home page will appear, which gives you an option to customize the name as it appears on your home screen.
  6. Press Add when you're done.
